Best-in-Class Anti-scratch Technology

Sapphire is the second hardest natural material on earth. Using sapphire plate as smartphone display screen can provide excellent protection from scratch, however, it is very heavy, highly brittle, difficult to process and extremely expensive.

The alternative solution is through our innovative engineering approach, “Sapphire thin film coated substrate” (US Patent: 9695501 B2), to deposit multi-layers of sapphire molecule on top of glass substrate material. This technology enables an ultra-hard, yet light weighted, less brittle, easy to process and super cost effective screen protector.

This innovation has also been awarded by multiple major global recognition like The Grand Prix Champion of the 44th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva & the Special Award for Invention by Romanian Association in 2016 and the Gold Medal in 2021, the Champion of HKSTP Elevator Pitch Competition in 2017 and the Excellence Award of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) High-Value Patent Portfolio Contest in 2021 .

A patented process to deposit an ultra-thin layer of sapphire onto a softer rigid substrate ;

  • Sapphire is second hardest known material (Mohs 9) and therefore cannot easily scratch. However it is denser than most commonly used materials such as glass and too brittle to process, so using it as cover glass in mobile devices such as mobile phone is not appropriate.

  • Our invention is the technology to deposit an ultra-thin layer of sapphire onto a softer substrate, such as quartz and chemically strengthened glass. It has received the Grand Prix in 2016 Geneva International Invention Exhibition.

        Sapphire Thin-film on Glass with AR film

A patented process to deposit an ultra-thin layer of sapphire onto a softer rigid substrate;

  • With the requirement of photo quality getting higher and higher, the anti-reflection (AR) layer has to be added on sapphire lens cover to improve their optical transmission. However, most of the anti-reflection materials exhibit a soft surface property, which is easily scratched and abrazed in the daily use.

  • Our anti-reflection sapphire coating technology is a multilayer deposition ended with an ultra-thin layer of sapphire.
